FESFUT (El Salvador Football Federation) has "banned for life from all footballing activity" 14 international players, announced CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football), on the 20/09/2013. This decision follows an investigation conducted since the 22/08/2013, regarding match-fixing between 2010 and 2013.

The Federation states that the investigation remains open, as FESFUT has "sufficient reason to consider that the friendly match against Venezuela, played on the 22/05/2013 (1-2 defeat), may have been manipulated."

These 14 players were part of the 22 suspended since August 2013 on a provisional basis for one month. Among the other eight suspects, three were sentenced to suspensions from 6 to 18 months, four have their temporary suspension extended by 20 days and one has been cleared.

Salvadoran Federation has also opened an e-mail address dedicated to the fight against match-fixing, "so that anyone with information can help find the parties responsible for match fixing."

Players have until the 05/10/2013 to appeal their sanctions.
