Privacy and Data Protection Policy

As part of its activity as a publisher of professional press information and its related event and commercial activities, News Tank Network (NTN) is required to process information concerning you.

By completing an event registration form, asking for a discovery subscription, subscribing to our services, contacting our customer service department, or browsing our websites, you are sending us information, some of which may identify you. These are the personal data.

This Privacy and Data Protection Policy informs you of how we collect and process your personal data. It applies to all our content and services (information services, events, clubs, newsletters, etc.) offered through all our sites and mobile applications, in addition to our General Subscription Conditions. We invite you to read it carefully.

We only use your personal data in the cases provided for by the regulations in force: French law on the protection of personal data and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Legal Responsibility and Data Protection Officer (DPO)

The legal responsibility for the data processing mentioned in this document is the company News Tank Network SAS, with a capital of €269,500, whose registered office is located at 48 rue de la Bienfaisance - 75008 Paris (France), RCS 751023896, and whose legal representative is Marc Guiraud.

2. What is the data collected?

Data transmitted by the user

This may include data entered when registering for a discovery or event subscription, data communicated orally to our teams or data entered in your profile on the site.

Data collected during the business relationship

In order to ensure the proper functioning of your subscription, we collect from the subscribing organization information allowing us to create the account and ensure the delivery of the service. Our General Subscription Terms and Conditions stipulates that your organization, as the subscription agent, has ensured your agreement.

Data collected during navigation

In order to ensure the proper functioning of our sites and applications and to measure their audience, we collect data automatically during navigation. This collection can be collected through the use of a cookie or pixel in our newsletters and email alerts.

The data we collect is, essentially:

  • Name
  • First name
  • Professional email address
  • Function
  • Title
  • Organization
  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number(s)
  • Login name and password for using our services
  • Photographs to enrich your directory file
  • Your professional background
  • Your opinion on our services
  • Your IP address
  • Your web browser
  • Service usage data:
    • Connection
    • Reading an article
    • Newsletter reception
    • Use of the search engine
    • Etc.
  • Any special requests you may have sent to NTN
  • Your subscription and/or registration history for our events

In accordance with the GDPR your password is encrypted and NTN is not aware of it.

Data relating to a third party (article recommendations)

NTN provides its subscribers with an article recommendation tool to send an article to a third party. The subscriber must ensure that the consent of the recommendation recipient is obtained before using the tool.

NTN provides recipients with a tool so that they can refuse subsequent mailings.

NTN will delete personal data at the request of the recipient (name, first name, email, organization and function).

Sensitive data

NTN does not collect any sensitive data about you. Sensitive data is considered to be: racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health data or sexual orientation.

3. How is the data used?

The data is used to provide the services (subscription, event registration, club membership, etc.) and to verify that the use made of it complies with our General Subscription Terms and Conditions.

The data allows us to send you commercial information about our services and events.

The data allows us to send you information about the partners of our events. Unless you have given your consent, your information is not transmitted to our partners. NTN is responsible for sending information and thus preserving its confidentiality. NTN provides a tool that allows you to refuse subsequent mailings at any time.

The data allows us to measure attendance and audience figures. 

The data allows us to optimize navigation and improve the functionalities made available to our subscribers.

4. Duration of the conservation of your data

 NTN keeps your data for the duration of the business relationship. At the end of this period, the storage period of your data will not exceed 36 months.

Browsing data collected through cookies are stored for 13 months, in accordance with regulations.`

We use an audience service (Google Analytics) and video integration services in our articles (YouTube, Vimeo and Dailymotion) that may place a cookie in your browser. You can choose to decline these cookies via the cookie settings page .

 

The other cookies used by NTN are configuration cookies (to ensure the proper functioning of the site, such as to avoid you having to re-enter your identifying data each time you visit). These cookies do not contain any personal data and are encrypted.

5. Access to the data

Our teams only access your data if the performance of their functions requires it (management of your subscription, invoicing, updating your directory file, etc.). They are committed to ensuring confidentiality.

Some of your data may be transmitted, at its request, to the agent of your subscription (your organization). The data transmitted in this context are the site and application usage data (number of connections, number of articles read, etc.).

6. Protection of data

Your data is hosted in France on NTN's servers, in a highly secure environment.

All our applications and websites use a secure protocol (https) to transmit your data, and your password is encrypted in our database.

7. What are your rights

Right of access and deletion

You have the right to access your personal data and to request that it be corrected, completed, or updated. You may also request the deletion of your data or object to their processing, provided that you can prove a legitimate reason. 

You may request to exercise your right to the portability of your data, i.e. the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used format.

Finally, you can formulate guidelines for the storage, erasure and communication of your personal data after your death.

Right to object to commercial solicitations

All the requests sent by NTN to your e-mail address include an unsubscribe link allowing you to no longer receive more messages. The automatic messages allowing the proper functioning of your subscription do not include an unsubscribe link (for example the message to reset your login details), but you can access your subscriber area at any time to modify the reception settings of your subscription yourself, or you can contact us directly via the contact form available on all our sites.

Right to accept and manage cookies

Unless you decide to disable audience and video integration cookies via the cookie management page , your continued browsing of our sites and mobile applications despite the display of the information banner constitutes consent to the use of cookies.

The other cookies used by NTN do not contain or collect any personal information and are required for the operation of the sites and applications. Disabling them can lead to total or partial malfunction (for example, the impossibility of accessing your subscriber space or the obligation to enter your identification data upon each visit).

8. Modification of this Privacy and Data Protection Policy

We may occasionally change this Privacy and Data Protection Policy from time to time. If necessary, we will inform you and seek your consent if necessary in accordance with legal provisions.
