Premier League: rejection of proposal to change the redistribution of international TV rights

The proposal of six Premier League clubs (Manchester City FC, Manchester United FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC, and Chelsea FC) to change the criteria for the redistribution of international TV rights will not be taken up, according to the English League on 24/10/2017: "A meeting set for Wednesday 25/10/2017 was called off because no decision was close".

The six richest clubs in the Premier League had proposed that 35% of the revenues from the sale of international TV rights be divided according to the Premier League table ranking. This plan was presented for the first time in front of the 20 Premier League clubs on 04/10/2017. Currently, international TV rights revenues, as well as -- since 2013-14 -- commercial rights revenues generated by the Premier League, are split equally among the 20 clubs.

The Premier League redistributed £2,398.5m (€2,753.42m on 02/06/2017) of audiovisual and commercial revenues to the 20 clubs that participated in the 2016-17 season (see below) on 01/06/2017. This amount was an increase of 46.3% compared to 2015-16 (£1,638.8m…
