"There is no time to lose to complete the work on the stadium," said Jerome Valcke, secretary general of FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) on the 10/10/2013 in Rio de Janeiro (BRA) after visiting the Pantanal Arena (42,900 seats) in Cuiaba on the 08/10/2013.

Jerome Valcke began his tour in Brazil in Porto Alegre on the 07/10/2013: "Lots of work has been done in Porto Alegre since last year. There are no worries. The Beira Rio Stadium (48,900 seats) will be ready for the World Cup."

With eight weeks to go until the draw for the finals, on the 06/12/2013 (in Costa do Sauipe near Salvador de Bahia), the Secretary General makes no secret of the fact that he intends to put "pressure" on the Brazilian organisers of the XX World Cup: "It is necessary to see all the details. We can't afford for things to slow down during this period. Every detail must be checked to ensure the success of this event."
