Streaming: Spanish LFP stepping up fight against illegal online streaming

The Spanish LFP (Professional Football League) has cut 5,386 illegally broadcast match signals in La Liga BBVA (first division) and Liga Adelante (second division) since the start of the 2013/14 season, they announced on the 24/10/2013. The Spanish league said that the cuts are aimed at public institutions, especially bars.

"The campaign is still active and operators continue to cut television signals when they detect illegal distribution of matches", specified the Spanish Professional League.

The fight against the illegal distribution of sporting events is one of the points on which the "Departamento de Integridad" (Department of Integrity) has been working on, since its establishment by Javier Tebas, the new president of the LFP, on the 19/07/2013. The department also fights against match-fixing and illegal betting.
