"Regional sponsorship is more of an opportunity than a real market approach, and it's for growth in a local market, but we've seen that it takes a lot of work to get the job done. We recognise that it takes a lot of time to create a partnership and ultimately, when you calculate the energy spent trying to find regional deals, the amount of time you spend serving the deal, compared to the amount of time you invest to find a global one, we have found that it is more beneficial to try to find global partnerships," said Frédéric Longuépée, deputy managing director in charge of business operations at Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama), during the Think Football 2018 Grand Debate, entitled "Super Clubs: Innovative Strategies for Commercial Growth," at the University Paris-Dauphine on 01/02/2018.

"Neymar, has of course helped us to enter a new era, as has (Kylian) Mbappé. We have seen an immediate impact on our audience, on ticketing and hospitality revenues, and there is likely to be a long-term effect on our sponsorship," added Frédéric Longuépée.
