"A player must be removed from the field and not play any further part when a physical sign such as a loss of consciousness (LOC) is present and concussion strongly suspected," said FIFPro (International Federation of Professional Footballers) on the 04/11/2013.

"The decision to allow French international and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to play on after he lost consciousness (after a collision with Romelu Lukaku during the match between Tottenham and Everton, 0-0 on the 03/11/2013) in an English Premier League match, goes against international medical advice", FIFPro added.

"FIFPro condemns that the health and safety of players are let to coaches/trainers or even to players themselves. Medical professionals should be aware of any relevant medical guidelines and apply them in order to empower the health and safety on the field. The health and safety of the players should be the number one priority and should prevail against any other matters," said Vincent Gouttebarge, medical advisor to the international union.
