The FA (English Football Association) posted a turnover of £351.2m (€392m on 31/07/2017) during the 2016-17 fiscal year (from 01/08/2016 to 31/07/2017), announced the Football Association presenting its annual results on 21/03/2018. This figure represented a decrease of £18.5m or 5.1%, compared to the 2015-16 fiscal year (£369.675m/€438m at the time).

The decrease can be largely explained "by the 2016-17 season being a men’s senior non-tournament year which typically results in lower turnover from broadcasting, events and lower prize funds received," said the FA. Wembley hosted 32 events in 2017 compared to 35 in 2016 and 28 in 2015.

The FA announced a net profit of £16m (€17.9m) for the 2016-17 fiscal year, compared to £7.062m (€8.4m) in 2015-16.

  • "The results are comprised of a consolidation of Football Association Limited, Wembley National Stadium Limited and the National Football Centre Limited," said the FA on 21/03/2018.
