NFL: Amazon extends its "Thursday Night Football" digital broadcast rights for two seasons

The US e-commerce group Amazon has extended, for the 2018 and 2019 NFL regular seasons, its digital broadcast rights to 11 of the 18 "Thursday Night Football" games, for its VoD platform Amazon Prime Video, on 26/04/2018.

Amazon would pay $130m (€107m), or $65m (€54m) per season, for the acquisition of these rights, 30% more than for the 2017 season, according to the international news agency Reuters.

Twitter, which acquired the same rights for the 2016 season, paid $10m according to the US press. "These rights are valid worldwide outside Canada," NFL told News Tank Football on 15/09/2016.

  • Amazon Prime's annual price will go from $99 ($82) to $119 ($98) in the US, starting on 11/05/2018.
