Financial fair play: AC Milan banned from the 2018-19 Europa League by UEFA Financial Control Body

"The Adjudicatory Chamber of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), chaired by José Narciso da Cunha Rodrigues (POR), has taken a decision to exclude AC Milan (Serie A) from participating in the next UEFA club competition for which it would otherwise qualify in the next two seasons (2018-19 and 2019-20)," announced UEFA on 27/06/2018.

The ruling, which is only for one UEFA club competition edition over the next two seasons, therefore excludes AC Milan from the 2018-19 Europa League, for which the club qualified by finishing sixth place in the 2017-18 Serie A TIM table.

"The Investigatory Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) has decided to refer Italian club AC Milan (Serie A TIM) to the Adjudicatory Chamber of the CFCB for breach of the Financial Fair Play regulations, in particular the break-even requirement," announced UEFA on 22/05/2018.
