SC Freiburg: the City of Freiburg (GER) adopts the development plan for the club's new stadium

"The Freiburg City Council has adopted, by a large majority, the statutes of the development plan for the new Wolfswinkel stadium (north-west of Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany)," announced SC Freiburg (Bundesliga), on 25/07/2018.

SC Freiburg and the City of Freiburg im Breisgau presented the first images of the project for the new stadium with a capacity of 34,700, in August 2017 (see below). The total cost was then estimated at €76m.

"We have come a big step closer to the construction of the new stadium. We would like to thank everyone present at the City Council meeting for this clear vote in favour of the project. With 36 votes in favour, four abstentions and four opposing votes in the last session before the summer break, the development plan for the new SC Stadium Wolfswinkel has been adopted," said Oliver Leki, chief financial officer of SC Freiburg.
