There will be a moment of silence before kick-off in honor of Nelson Mandela, who died on the 05/12/2013, and then a "handshake for peace", exchanged at the end of the game by the captains and referees. These are the special tributes that FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) have established for each of the eight matches of the FIFA Club World Cup, on the 10/12/2013.

The last FIFA competition of 2013, held in Morocco from the 11 to 21/12/2013, started on the 11/12/2013 (20:30 pm Central European Time) in Agadir with a play-off between Raja Casablanca (MAR) and Auckland City FC (NZL). The Moroccan club won 2-1.

"Before every match, we’re going to ask everyone in the stadiums - players, fans and officials - to observe a moment of silence and to applaud Nelson Mandela, whose image will be broadcast on a giant screen," said Jérôme Valcke, the FIFA Secretary General.

The "handshake for peace" has been established by FIFA and the Nobel Peace Centre. It will be exchanged at the end of each match between captains and referees around the centre circle.
