FIFA has recently opened three offices in Africa, based in South Africa, Ethiopia and Senegal. Fatou Camara (MLI), former international footballer, has been appointed to head the West Africa office, based in Dakar (SEN), according to CAF on 07/10/2018.

"Fatou Camara, born 16/10/1978 in Bamako (MLI), was president of the Central Women's Football Commission in Mali and CAF match commissioner. Camara played for Mali for seven years (AFCON 2002 and 2004), before retiring in 2004 at the age of 26. Prior to her nomination by FIFA, she held the position of Financial Assistant for Technical Cooperation Projects and Account Manager for the International Labor Office in Mali," said CAF.
