Revenues from TV rights (excluding UEFA revenue) represent, in 2017 or 2016-17 (depending on the leagues), between 5% and 54% of the total revenue of the 20 European leagues that earn the most, according to the "The European Club Footballing Landscape" report, published by UEFA on 18/01/2019. Premier League clubs are the most dependent on TV rights revenue (54%), ahead of the Serie A TIM (49%) and LaLiga Santander (43%), unlike the Russian Premier League (5%), last in this ranking.

Premier League clubs received an average of €145.5m per club in TV rights revenue in 2017. Only FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander, €154m), Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, €142m) and Juventus FC (Serie A TIM, €122m) received more than the lowest earning Premier League club.

The Liga NOS, where TV rights are marketed individually, is by far the league where the TV revenue gap between clubs is the largest, with the first club receiving 15.4 times more than the median revenue of the clubs of the Portuguese league. On average, this ratio is 2.4 for the 24 European leagues that market these rights collectively.
