"The ticket offer will reflect the current economic situation, despite the high-end positioning of Euro 2016. We are certainly not able to make attending the final match five euros, but there are 51 matches in the final tournament, and we want them to be as accessible as possible," said Jacques Lambert, president of Euro 2016 SAS (French joint venture organising the tournament), on the 27/01/2014.

"What I can say for certain," he added during an informal meeting with the media, "is that this [price] concern is shared by Michel Platini (president of UEFA, Union of European Football Associations) and Jacques Lambert."

The president of the Euro 2016 SAS submitted outlines of his ticketing and hospitality strategy to the Executive Committee of UEFA in Nyon (SUI) on the 24/01/2014, as well as the various options for public quotas, supporters of qualified teams, sponsors and the marketing of various products.

"2.51 million tickets will be available for Euro 2016. This is 70% more than at Euro 2012, but there were only 31 matches (16 teams) then against 51 matches (24 teams) in 2016. And…
