Bundesliga: at least €45m in international revenue split between clubs from 2015-16

18 Bundesliga clubs will share at least €45m in equal parts, thanks to international commercial revenues from the 2015-16 season equating to about €2.5m per club, said the DFL (German Professional Football League) on 10/03/2014. Clubs in the German Bundesliga currently have a minimum of €27m in international trade income, or on average €1.5m per club, based on their results in the European championship.

The new system of international income distribution means that amounts in excess of €45m will be distributed among the clubs who took part in European competitions over the last five seasons, based on the number of points attained during classification period of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations). If implemented in 2013-14, this rule would involve 11 of the 18 clubs in the league.

The value of international TV rights to the Bundesliga amounted to €70m per season for the 2013-2015 cycle. The DFL's placement in the global partnership (broadcast in 80 countries) signed with 21st Century Fox on 14/10/2013 will enter into force in 2015-16 to double that amount.
