TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Bundesliga) is offering its fans the chance to finance a reforestation project in the Kikonda Forest (Uganda) through a "climate ticket" system, announced the club on 04/10/2019.

Whenever you buy a ticket online for a TSG 1899 Hoffenheim match at the PreZero Arena (30,150 capacity), a "climate ticket" worth €1 is automatically proposed to the spectators. Each buyer can decide whether or not to choose the option, or even increase their contribution to the myclimate Deutschland organisation, which is in charge of the project in Uganda.

"The donation initiative encourages small farmers to both reforest as well as manage existing forests in such a way that they can serve as a foundation for long-term sustainable land use and the absorption of CO2. Approximately 200 seedlings are enough to reforest an area the size of a football pitch. Donations don't just contribute to the fight against climate change; local people are aided too," said the German club.
