England: the Premier League, its clubs and players, generate an average of £3.3bn in tax per year

The Premier League, its clubs and their players generated an average of £3.3bn (€3.87bn on 14/01/2020) in tax revenue each year in 2017, 2018 and 2019, of which £1.1bn (€1.3bn) came from direct contributions from players playing in the English Premier League, according to the British audit and consultancy firm EY (Ernst & Young) in its report entitled "Premier League Economic and Social Impact" (available to download), which was relayed by the English League on 14/01/2020.

In total, the 20 elite English clubs directly employ 12,000 people, and around 100,000 jobs are directly or indirectly linked to them, in particular through their suppliers and those of the clubs. In addition, the Premier League and its clubs have contributed, both directly and indirectly, an average of £7.6bn (€8.9bn) to UK GDP over the last three years.
