FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the most popular European club on social media in China, according to the "Red Card 2020" report by the Mailman Group, a Chinese agency that analyses and manages the digital presence of brands on the Internet, published on 17/01/2020. With 126 points, FC Barcelona are ahead of Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, 119 points) and Chelsea FC (Premier League, 90 points).

The ranking of club popularity published in the Red Card 2020 report (document available to download) was established by a jury of 10 people representing the sports industry in China. Data on 10 undisclosed performance indicators, enabling the assessment of the appeal for Chinese fans (number of followers, audience growth, engagement rate, etc.), were collected between 01/01 and 31/12/2019.
