Premier League: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts of the 20 clubs (February 2020)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2019-20 Premier League season have nearly 496 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/02/2019. This total makes the Premier League the second most popular Top 5 European league on all the three social networks, behind LaLiga Santander, with an average of 24.8 million fans per club.

Manchester United FC are the most popular English club with over 128 million fans, followed by Chelsea FC, with over 82.7 million and Liverpool FC, with more than 73 million.

Liverpool FC was the Premier League club that experienced the best growth in abosolute value in January 2020 with 1.7 million additional fans, including 1.1 million on Instagram alone. Tottenham Hotspur FC, second, posted an increase of more than 1.3 million fans, mainly via Facebook (+877,398 likes).

In terms of percentage growth, Sheffield United FC was the club that experienced the best growth on Facebook (+9.6%) and Twitter (+6.2%), while Aston Villa FC had the best growth on Instagram (+30.5%) among the Premier League clubs during…
