Financial Fair Play: Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City threatened by UEFA (The Telegraph)

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1) and Manchester City (Premier League) may be punished by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) for non-compliance of financial fair-play rules, the British newspaper The Telegraph reported on 15/04/2014.

Among the 20 clubs under threat of UEFA sanctions, Paris SG and Manchester City are the most at risk. While specific possible sanctions are not yet known, they would not go as far as expulsion from the Champions League 2014-2015, according to The Telegraph.

Clubs that spend more money than they generate face penalties ranging from a warning up to forfeit of a title, and include the retention of revenue or the prohibition on signing up new players for the European Cup (see below for the nine possible degrees of sanctions).

The CFCB (Club Financial Control Body of UEFA) will meet on 15 and 16/04/2014 at UEFA headquarters in Nyon (Switzerland).
