Financial fair-play: findings of investigation by UEFA supervisory body to be published early May

"The investigatory chamber of the CFCB (Club Financial Control Body of UEFA) held a two day meeting (15 and 16/04/2014) where it deliberated on the investigations relating to financial fair play. The procedure is ongoing and any findings of the Investigatory Chamber will be published after its next meeting, which is scheduled to take place in the first week of May," said UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) on 19/04/2014.

"UEFA will not comment further until these proceedings are concluded," said the European confederation.

Of the 237 clubs examined this season, UEFA asked for "additional information from 76 of them," (32.1% of clubs), it announced on 03/03/2014.

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1) and Manchester City (Premier League) are the two clubs most likely to be punished, according to the British newspaper, The Telegraph, on 15/04/2014.

  • To participate in European competitions, clubs must meet, from 2013-14, the requirement for financial stability (i.e. they must not spend more money than they generate).
