The aggregate debt of the 20 Italian Serie A clubs has continued to grow (+1.9%) to €2.947b at the end of the 2012-13 season, compared to €2.892b a year earlier, indicated the Report Calcio 2014, the fourth annual report published by the Centre for Studies and Development of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation), on 14/04/2014.

This document was prepared in collaboration with the AREL (Research and Legislation Agency) and international audit, accounting and consultancy firm, PwC.

The 2012-13 turnover of the 20 clubs in Serie A was -€202m (compared to -€280m in 2011-12, an increase of 28%). This has helped to strengthen equity from €208m to €254m (+21%).

The total turnover of the 20 clubs in Serie A was €2.3b (compared to €2.1b in 2011-12). Ticket sales were up 1.8%, thanks to the arrival in the first division of clubs in 2012; Torino, Pescara and Sampdoria when Lecce, Cesena and Novara were relegated to Serie B.

Attendance fell by 900,000 in 2012-13 from 13.2 million in 2011-12 to 12.3 million the next season, an average of 22,591 fewer fans per game: still better than Ligue 1…
