Scotland: clubs to market a "virtual season ticket" (TV or stadium) for the 2020-21 season

Ladbrokes Premiership clubs will be able to sell a "virtual season ticket" for the 2020-21 season, announced the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) on 03/06/2020. This subscription will allow fans to watch all their team's home matches at the stadium or on television (as long as the matches are played behind closed doors). Each club will set the price of the season ticket and will broadcast the matches on their websites. These matches would not have been broadcast on British television due to the "TV blackout" (see below).

The matches will be produced by the UK pay-TV operator Sky. This initiative is part of a more comprehensive TV rights agreement with the League's broadcaster in the UK and Ireland. Sky has already paid the full TV rights for the 2019-20 season, while the Scottish league will not be completed (see below). "The SPFL and Sky have also agreed to spread the financial settlement for the games unable to be completed in Season 2019-20 across the term of the new five-year contract (2020-2025 cycle)," said the League.
