Premier League: record cumulative losses of £599.5m (€668.7m) for English clubs in 2018-19 (Vysyble)

Whilst the 20 Premier League clubs earned £5.157bn (€5.752bn as of 30/06/2019) in revenue during the 2018-19 season, their cumulative losses for the season were £599.5m (€668.7m), a new record for the Premier League, according to the specialist consultancy firm Vysyble, in the fifth edition of "We're So Rich It's Unbelievable! - The Illusion of Wealth Within Football" published on 09/06/2020.

"The 2018-19 numbers are a disturbing and profoundly worrying financial outcome from England's senior football divisions Premier League and Sky Bet Championship, whose cumulative losses amount to £307.4m/€342.9m) and is symptomatic of the deeper issues with the overall financial model which we have highlighted many times previously. With record losses at club level for 2018-19 and just 36% of Premier League clubs achieving an annual economic profit since 2009, the perception of the Premier League as 'football’s richest division' is clearly challenged," said Roger Bell, one of the directors at Vysyble.
