Scudamore Case: Premier League clubs forgo all disciplinary action

Clubs in the English league will not apply any disciplinary action against Richard Scudamore -- the chief executive of the Premier League who was accused of sexism -- according Peter McMormick, the acting chairman of Premier League, on 20/05/2014.

Emails from Richard Scudamore had been disclosed by the British weekly The Sunday Mirror on 11/05/2014 in which he said sexist things about a female colleague. The Premier League clubs noted the privacy of these emails, the CEO's public apology and the support of his employees.

The British association "Women in Football", which aims to increase the number of women involved in football matches, contested this decision and asked the 20 Premier League clubs and their sponsors to conduct an independent investigation. David Cameron, prime minister of the United Kingdom, said on 19/05/2014 that in a similar case a member of his government would have been asked to resign.
