Championship (English second division) had an average of 16,619 spectators for its matches in 2013-14, or a 5% decrease (down 874) compared to 2012-13, as of the 46th and last matchday played on 03/05/2014.

The competition got a total of 9,173,519 spectators into its 24 stadiums in 2013-14. Brighton & Hove Albion (6th in the final standings) had the highest average attendance: 27,283 spectators which was up by 4%, or 1,071 people per match more than in 2012-13.

The 5% drop in average Championship attendance is partly attributable to the low total recorded by the three clubs that had been promoted to League One at the end of the 2012-13 season. These are the only three with less than 10,000 spectators average in 2013-14: Bournemouth (9,952), Doncaster (9,041) and Yeovil Town (6,616).
