Mediapro France: call to strike by production teams canceled; payment of €64m to the LFP made

The CFDT-UNSA trade union of Mediapro France (entity in charge of the production activities in France of the Spanish group) canceled its call to strike after meeting with Jaume Roures, president and founder of the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group, on 16/12/2020. The editorial team of the Téléfoot channel, affiliated with the Mediapro Sport France company and directed by Julien Bergeaud, was not concerned in this call to strike which potentially threatened the broadcasting of Matchday16 of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT from Friday 18/12/2020.

Mediapro has also paid the first €64m installment provided for in the agreement signed on 11/12/2020 with the LFP, according to to the French sports media L'Équipe. This agreement provides for the LFP to recover the broadcasting rights to 80% of the matches of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT acquired by Mediapro on 28/05/2018.
