UEFA: Former general secretary David Taylor (60, Scotland) dies

David Taylor, former general secretary of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) and former CEO of the SFA (Scottish Football Association), has died at age 60, the SFA announced on 24/06/2014.

Taylor (of Scotland) was the chief executive of the Scottish Federation from 1999 to 2007. He became the general secretary of UEFA on 01/06/2007, after an amendment to UEFA's articles abolishing the office of chief executive by the congress of 27/05/2007. He was replaced in 2009 by Gianni Infantino, and became the chief executive of UEFA Events SA, the company that manages commercial and event operations for UEFA. He also, since 2009, served as a technical advisor to the European confederation.
