Massimiliano Allegri (ITA) has been appointed the new manager of Juventus Turin (Serie A), the club announced on 16/07/2014. He will replace Antonio Conte, who resigned on 15/07/2014. Conte had been the manager of Juventus since 31/05/2011.

"The decision was made with the agreement of the directors. I carefully thought it over," said Conte, who is 44. The resignation of the former Juventus Turin midfielder (from 1994 to 2001) was due to differences with Juve leaders regarding the 2014 summer transfer window, according to reporting by the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport on 15/07/2014. Under Conte's management, Juventus Turin won Serie A three straight times: in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Allegri, 46, was the manager of AC Milan (Serie A) from 25/06/2010 to 13/01/2014. He was sacked for poor results. His annual salary at Juventus Turin was estimated at €2m by La Gazzetta dello Sport on 16/07/2014.
