Brazil 2014: 632,646 tourists injected €462m into local economy of Brasilia

488,903 Brazilians and 143,743 foreign tourists went to Brasilia to watch the seven 2014 World Cup fixtures (Brazil, from 12/06 to 13/07/2014) hosted in the Mané-Garrincha stadium, the Brazilian government announced on 31/07/2014.

These 632,646 tourists injected 1.3bn reais (approximately €462m) into the local economy, and stayed on average 4.2 days in the Brazilian capital. The tourists spent on average 4,000 reais each (approximately €1,321) during their trip.

478,218 spectators went to the Mané-Garrincha stadium (capacity 69,349) to watch the games, an average of 68,317 spectators per game, the second highest for a stadium in the competition after Maracanã (Rio de Janeiro, 74,170 spectators on average). During the 31 days of competition, 351,000 people visited the Fan Fest Taguaparque in Brasilia.
