AFCON 2021: Sky and BBC acquire broadcasting rights for the UK and Ireland

The pay-TV operator Sky and the public broadcasting group BBC have acquired the broadcasting rights to the TotalEnergies 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON, to be held in Cameroon and postponed due to Covid-19 until from 09/01 to 06/02/2022), for the United Kingdom and Ireland, announced the British broadcasting groups on 15/12/2021.

Sky will broadcast all 52 matches of the competition, while the BBC will show 10 matches, including the final, scheduled to take place in Yaoundé on Sunday 06/02/2022.

For the first time since 1994, the pay-TV group Eurosport will not be broadcasting the competition in the UK.
