The Bundesliga is aiming for €200-250m in international broadcasting revenues per season, said Christian Seifert, the chief executive of the DFL (German Football League), speaking to the German business newspaper Handelsblatt on 07/08/2014.

For 2012-2015, the German league gets €71.6m on average in international broadcasting revenues per season. This amount is expected to surpass €150m per season from 2015-16, when the partnership enters into effect between the Bundesliga and the American broadcasting conglomerate 21st Century Fox, which will broadcast the first German division in 80 countries worldwide through 2019-20.

"Football is now part of the global entertainment industry. Our thinking can no longer simply stop at national borders," said Seifert in Handelsblatt on 07/08/2014.

"Overseas TV rights are the main source of growth for German clubs," he had said on 06/08/2013.
