CVC Capital Partners: first 6 Nations as a shareholder for the fund now linked with LaLiga

The 2022 edition of the Guinness 6 Nations, which began on 05 and 06/02/2022, is the first with CVC Capital Partners among the shareholders of Six Nations Rugby, the commercial company in charge of the rights of the tournament, now equally owned (1/7th) by the Luxembourg investment fund and the Rugby Federations of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales.

Already a shareholder in Premiership Rugby and the Guinness Pro14 , which will become the United Rugby Championship in 2021-22, CVC is due to pay £305m (€343m) over a period of five years in five annual instalments, following an agreement announced on 11/03/2021 which has since been ratified. "In addition, a further £60m (€67.5m) may be paid to the Federations if the business plan is achieved and certain performance targets are met by the end of the financial years 2025-26, 2026-27 and 2027-28," said the FFR on 16/01/2021.

CVC now also owns 8.2% of the capital of LaLiga Group International, a new holding company created on 01/02/2022, in charge of the development of the strategic project "LaLiga Impulso" that unites the…
