Luzenac: "This case shows that there should be a CAS in France" (Michel Platini, UEFA)

"I have followed the incredible drama of the Luzenac case. The DNCG (the French National Directorate of Management Control), the LFP (French Professional Football League) decision, the appeal and the tribunal... I agree with Frédéric Thiriez (President of the Football League), that this case proves that there should be a Court of Arbitration for Sport in France," said Michel Platini, President of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), to News Tank on 28/08/2014.

"There should be a Court of Arbitration for Sport and then a law that establishes that its decisions are authoritative in the civil courts," added Platini, in Monaco, backstage for the draw of the group stages of the Champions League and the Europa League.

"That's what happened in Switzerland with FC Sion. The CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport, based in Lausanne) has made a decision that was met by the civil courts (see below)," said the President of UEFA.
