Premier League: owner states Hull City are for sale; name change decision appealed to the CAS

The Egyptian Assem Allam, chairman and owner of Hull City AFC (Premier League), said that his club has been placed on sale since 10/04/2014, according to his pledge to leave "within 24 hours" in case his bid to rename the club "Hull Tigers" fails, the club announced in a statement on 11/09/2014.

His decision to put the club up for sale follows the refusal of the council of the FA (English Football Association), on 09/04/2014, to validate the name change of the club from "Hull City" to "Hull Tigers."

To date, no suitable investor has come forward, the chairman stated to the British press on 11/09/2014. Assem Allam added that the club has appealed the decision of the FA to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport), without specifying the date of filing this appeal.

If the FA were to change its original decision, or the appeal filed by Hull City is accepted by the CAS, Assem Allam would reconsider his decision to sell the club, he indicated on 11/09/2014.
