"French football is saved. But it remains convalescent. We were able to mobilise collectively during an extremely complicated and anxious period to turn our weaknesses into strengths and transform our constraints into opportunities. Our union has enabled us to create the conditions for a 'new deal' for French football that will allow us to emerge stronger from the storm we have been through," said Vincent Labrune, president of the Ligue de Football Professionnel, to the French daily newspaper Les Echos on 06/05/2022.

"The elements are in place for us to enter a virtuous circle, which is the meaning of the 'Renaissance' project carried out by the League and the clubs," added Labrune.

The LFP's general assembly unanimously approved the creation of a commercial subsidiary and the firm commitment to invest a total of €1.5bn in its capital by the Luxembourg fund CVC Capital Partners, "intended to support the development of the entire French football ecosystem," on 01/04/2022.
