Premier League: Everton FC and Liverpool City Council are working on urban project and new stadium

Everton FC (Barclays Premier League) and the Liverpool City Council confirmed that they were working on a transformational regeneration opportunity for the city, based on a new stadium, on 16/09/2014.

The club and Liverpool's municipal council are working on an urban project based at Walton Hall Park. "The Council and the Club will now work with public, private and voluntary sector partners, including Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH) and Everton in the Community, to explore and understand community needs and then develop and ultimately deliver a new, vibrant and sustainable neighbourhood for North Liverpool," said the municipal council and the club. Everton want to replace Goodison Park (capacity 40,000), their home ground since 1892. The project also includes the construction of public equipments and leisure facilities. The city of Liverpool expects to create 1,000 new jobs with this project.
