Financial fair play: UEFA to investigate 7 clubs for potential break-even breaches

The UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) investigatory chamber "has opened seven investigations related to potential break-even breaches," announced the European federation on 25/09/2014.

The seven clubs being investigated are AS Monaco FC (Ligue 1), AS Roma and FC Internazionale Milano (Serie A TIM), Liverpool FC (Barclays Premier League), Beşiktaş JK (Toto Süper Lig, TUR), FC Krasnodar (Premier League, RUS) and Sporting Clube de Portugal (Primeira Liga, POR). AS Monaco FC, AS Roma, Liverpool FC and Sporting Clube de Portugal are competing in the group phase of the Champions League, whilst FC Internazionale Milano, Beşiktaş JK and FC Krasnodar are competing in the Europa League.

These clubs "disclosed a break-even deficit on the basis of their financial reporting periods ending in 2012 and 2013," explained UEFA.
