Qatar 2022: 24 of the 32 national teams housed within a 10km radius

24 of the 32 teams that will take part in the XXII World Cup in Qatar from 21/11 to 18/12/2022 will be housed within a 10km radius (around the capital Doha), according to FIFA, which published the list of base camps (hotels and training grounds) on 26/07/2022.

The aim of having the training camps so close to each other is so "that the event’s thrilling atmosphere is concentrated in and around Doha, to the delight of local and international fans," explained the organisers of the competition.

"The 31 teams travelling to Qatar will have a Team Base Camp to call home at the most compact FIFA World Cup since the inaugural instalment in 1930 (the first edition was played at a single venue, in Montevideo, Uruguay). With no domestic flights required during the tournament, the same top-class facilities will be used throughout the competition. For this edition, therefore, official training sessions the day before matches will also be held at the respective training sites," said the international federation.
