Tennis: a turnover of €58.8m for the International Tennis Federation in 2021 (€79.1m in 2019)

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) posted a turnover of $66.6m (€58.8m) in the 2021 financial year (from 01/01 to 31/12/2021), almost twice as much as in 2020, a year disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic (turnover of $35.6m/€30.3m), announced the world body in its 2021 Annual Review published on 25/08/2022.

The events organised by the ITF generated $34.8m (€30.7m), including $19.4m (€17.1m) from the licensing rights to the Davis Cup - a competition owned by the Kosmos group. The Davis Cup generated $10.3m (€8.75m) in 2020 and $40.3m (€34.3m) in 2019.

In 2021, the ITF increased its spending - its investment in tennis - by 67.3% to $74.8m (€66m) from $44.7m (€36.4m) in 2020.

The ITF had generated $88.7m (€79.1m) in revenue in 2019, the final year before the Covid-19-induced calendar shake-up. "The Covid-19 pandemic, cost the international federation $75.2m (€66.4m) in revenues over two years," explained the ITF.
