Qatar 2022: "Participating in the World Cup doesn't mean turning a blind eye and condoning it" (FFF)

"Concerning the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the FFF's position is very clear: participating does not mean turning a blind eye and condoning it. However, the organisation of this World Cup has enabled social progress in Qatar that even some NGOs, including Amnesty International, recognise. Even if the reality on the ground is not perfect, this progress is undeniable and positive," declared the French Football Federation on 24/09/2022.

The FFF responded to a press release from Amnesty International on 23/09/2022 in which the organisation, which campaigns for "respect for human rights for all", indicated its intention to support Denmark during the match versus France in the Nations League (2-0 victory for Denmark at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, DEN, on Sunday 25/09/2022): "In solidarity with migrant workers in Qatar, the sponsors of the Danish team have decided to remove their logos from the players' training shirts and to replace them with a message in favour of respect for human rights in Qatar.
