FIFA: president of the Mongolian Federation suspended five years for accepting bribes, kickbacks

Ganbold Buyannemekh, president of the Mongolian Football Federation, was suspended by the FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) ethics committee for five years from any activites related to football, at the national and international levels, for accepting bribes and kickbacks from Mohamed bin Hammam, a former member of the Executive Committee of the international body, on 15/10/2014. The penalty begins this same day.

"Mr. Buyannemekh solicited and accepted payments [from Mr. Mohamed bin Hammam] in the context of the elections for the FIFA Executive Committee at the AFC Congress in 2009 as well as the FIFA presidential election in 2011," stated FIFA in a press release on 15/10/2014.
