"There were already problems before the World Cup. The effect has perhaps doubled with Qatar, because it is not a football country. The question is how we can support countries that do not have the sports infrastructure to host this type of event. The situation of migrant workers is much worse in Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates. We must use the World Cup as a lever to change things," said Kévin Veyssière, geopolitical analyst for the media outlet FC Geopolitics, on the occasion of the "Médias en Seine" festival held in Paris, at the headquarters of the Les Echos - Le Parisien group and at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, on 22/11/2022.
