European Top 5: social media communities of the 98 clubs (February 2023)

• Together the clubs in the European Top 5 gained 37 million fans in the last month, bringing their total followers to just over 2.2 billion.
• Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) is the club with the most fans on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter combined, with over 316 million followers, as of 01/02/2023. Real is ahead of FC Barcelona, with 292 million followers, and Manchester United FC (Premier League), which has almost 192 million followers.
• Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) was the club with the largest increase in fans during January, with 4.2 million new followers.
• In relative terms, Cádiz CF recorded the best percentage growth in its total number of followers, with an average of +35.7% across the four platforms.
• Only nine clubs from the European Top 5 have a total of over 100 million followers, including four from the Premier League, two from LaLiga Santander, one from Ligue 1 Uber Eats, one from the Bundesliga (FC Bayern Munich) and one from Serie A TIM (Juventus FC).
