LDLC Arena: "We would like to position ourselves to buy the whole venue" (Tony Parker)

"I've talked about it with my shareholders, and they want to go for it, and we would like to position ourselves to buy the whole venue! It's always good for a club to be the owner of its venue," said Tony Parker, majority shareholder and president of LDLC ASVEL (Betclic Élite), to the French sports daily L'Equipe on 07/10/2023.

The former San Antonio Spurs (NBA) player reacted to reports that John Textor, owner of OL Groupe, wanted to sell off all or part of the LDLC Arena (Décines-Charpieu, FRA), his events venue due to open on 23/11/2023 with the 2023-24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game between ASVEL and FC Bayern Munich (easyCredit BBL).

"I spoke to John about this two days ago (Wednesday 04/10/2023). We're currently working on our offer. I'm not going to go into the figures because we're still in the negotiation phase," added the former NBA player.

"If we buy the LDLC Arena, it has to be a business that runs, and we know very well that it's the concerts that keep this type of venue running. We want to keep the same model as that defined at the start, i.e. 13 Euroleague games at…
