Brazil 2014: 396 clubs who provided players receive €59.3 million (ECA)

396 clubs from 57 different countries have received $70m (€59.3m) distributed by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) for providing the 736 players (32 teams of 23 players) who participated in the World Cup in Brazil (12/06 to 13/07/2014), announced the ECA (European Club Association) on 08/01/2015.

The FIFA Executive Committee had set the gross amount of compensation "before taxes and deductions" at $70m, to be shared between the clubs to which the participant players belonged to in the two years prior to the World Cup.

FC Bayern München (GER), who had 15 players present in Brazil, is the club that collected the most money $1.73m (€1.46m). Nine clubs -- all from Europe -- collected more than $1m (€850,000): four English clubs, two Spanish, two Italian and one German. Of the 396 clubs receiving compensation, 240 (60.6%) are European.
