France: launch of the call for tenders for broadcasting rights to the 2026 & 2030 World Cups

FIFA has launched a call for tenders for the broadcasting rights in France to the 2026 World Cup (first edition with 48 teams, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico) and the 2030 World Cup (official decision expected at the FIFA Congress on 17/05/2024, Morocco-Portugal-Spain joint bid now the only one in the running) on 09/01/2024.

"Entities wishing to participate in the tender processes can request the invitation to tenders by emailing france-media-rights@fifa.org. The bid submission deadline is 10:00am (CET) on Tuesday 13/02/2024," explained FIFA.

The 2022 World Cup was broadcast in France by the private free-TV channel TF1 and the pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France. TF1 broadcast 28 matches, including 12 matches in the knockout stages (five Round of 16 matches, three quarter-finals, the semi-finals, the match for third place and the final). beIN SPORTS France broadcast all 64 matches, including 36 matches on an exclusive basis (including three Round of 16 matches and one quarter-final).
