FFF: a record 2,300,855 licenses issued in 2023-24 (+8.7%), including 239,886 for females (+12.6%)

"With a total of 2,300,855 licences issued for the 2023-24 season, the Fédération Française de Football has never counted so many licence holders, with an average increase of +8.7% in licences compared to last season (2.215 million)," announced the FFF on 18/01/2024. There were 2,060,960 licences for men (+8.3%) and 239,886 for women (+12.6%), which is also a record.

"This record number of players, referees and supervisors, both men and women, can be seen in all categories, from the youngest to the oldest, and in all positions (managers, instructors, referees). This positive trend is particularly evident in the various youth categories, from U6 to U17. For example, the first category of U6 girls (aged 5 to 6) recorded an increase of +9.1%, while the number of U6 boys rose by around +13.4%. The number of supervisors is also on the rise. The number of managers is increasing on average by +9%, that of instructors by +6% and that of referees (22,830) by +11%," added the Federation.
