14 football clubs in Saudi Arabia are involved in the second phase of an investment and privatisation project announced by the Ministry of Sports, in collaboration with the National Centre for Privatisation (NCP), according to the Saudi government on 03/07/2024.

The initiative aims to "attain the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and to encourage the business sector to take part in the establishment and growth of the sports industry in a manner that would benefit all teams, clubs, players, and fans." To this end, 14 clubs in various divisions are being offered to investors, both domestic and foreign.

From August 2024, interested investors will be able to "visit the investor portal on the NCP website to apply and get the required information if they would want to invest in six clubs: Al-Zulfi, Al-Nahda, Al-Okhdood, Al-Ansar, Al-Orouba and Al-Kholood. A second phase, to be launched "sequentially later" in 2024, will involve eight other clubs: Al-Shoulla, Hajar, Al-Najma, Al-Riyadh, Al-Rawda, Jeddah, Al-Taraji, and Al-Sahel.
